{"id":806,"date":"2013-08-05T14:57:23","date_gmt":"2013-08-05T14:57:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gotowebsmith.com\/2013\/08\/05\/how-to-access-the-message-options-and-view-the-internet-headers-in-outlook-2010\/"},"modified":"2022-07-01T20:07:41","modified_gmt":"2022-07-01T20:07:41","slug":"how-to-access-the-message-options-and-view-the-internet-headers-in-outlook-2010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gotowebsmith.com\/how-to-access-the-message-options-and-view-the-internet-headers-in-outlook-2010\/","title":{"rendered":"How to access the Message Options and view the Internet headers in Outlook 2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This option has been removed from the context (right click) menu in Outlook 2010 and also doesn\u2019t exist in Outlook 2013 but there are alternative ways to access the dialog still and see the Internet headers of that message.<\/p>\n<h2> \tBy opening the message first<\/h2>\n<p>If you open the message in its own window (via a double click), then you can access the Message Options of that message via;<br \/>\nFile-&gt; Info-&gt; button: Properties<\/p>\n<h2> \tBy leaving the message closed<\/h2>\n<p>If you do not want to open the message first, but want to access the Message Options dialog directly from within the main Outlook window, then you can add the Message Options command to your Quick Access Toolbar;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li> \t\tFile-&gt; Options<\/li>\n<li> \t\tSelect the Quick Access Toolbar on the left.<\/li>\n<li> \t\tSet the \u201cChoose commands from\u201d dropdown list to; Commands Not in the Ribbon<\/li>\n<li> \t\tFrom the command list select; Message Options\u2026<\/li>\n<li> \t\tPress the \u201cAdd &gt; &gt;\u201d button.<\/li>\n<li> \t\tPress OK.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The option is now added to the Quick Access Toolbar at the top of your Outlook window and view the Internet headers of a message without needing to open it first.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-805\" alt=\"Message Options in Outlook 2010\" src=\"https:\/\/gotowebsmith.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/messageoptions-2010.png\" title=\"Message Options in Outlook 2010\" width=\"433\" height=\"199\"><br \/>\n<em>Add the Message Options command to the QAT to view the Internet headers of a message without needing to open it.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Note:<\/strong> Since the Message Options command is now in the Quick Access Toolbar, you can also use a keyboard shortcut to use it.
